A few days ago, a friend drew my attention (via Facebook) to Wikipedia’s synopsis of the 1994 West Coast hip-hop classic Regulate by Warren G and Nate Dogg. Do yourself a favor and read this immediately! It’s a callback to that internet meme from the late 90s — a “translation” (I much prefer the term “synopsis” for these purposes) of Biggie’s One More Chance.
Earlier, another friend posted (also via FB) a Wikipedia synopsis of another early 90s hip-hop classic — this time, Sir Mix-a-lot’s infamous Baby Got Back. It’s not quite as hilarious as the Regulate entry, but it does seem to be the beginning of a meme I generally approve.
